Oleochemicals are used for the manufacture of food-contact surfaces. Calcium stearate is used as a food emulsifier and a flow agent both for the manufacture of cany. A triple-pressed fatty acid is used as a hardening additive and a mould release agent in the manufacturing of food and drinks.

Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals

Oleochemicals can be used as preservatives, thickeners, and emollients in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. In topical herbal products and other therapeutic formulations, Isopropyl myristate is used as a moisturizer. The production of cough syrups and oral care products that function as a mutant also depend on fatty acids obtained from oleochemicals.
